Does the structural stability hold?

Does the structural stability hold?

You have designed an assembly or plant, but do not know whether the design can withstand all loads permanently? Do you have designers who can operate the integrated FEM module of your CAD program, but are not sure how to interpret the colored images? You lack calculation engineers in your team? Then play it safe when it comes to statics in mechanical engineering: Take advantage of the expertise and experience of our experts. The LinoPro design office offers you calculations and measurements of the statics of your components, complex assemblies and systems with and without FEM:

Structural analysis in mechanical engineering

Structural analysis in mechanical engineering

Statics describes the forces acting on resting bodies and their effects. Static analyses are used to determine the prerequisites for the state in which all static forces are in equilibrium with one another. After all, a machine or a steel structure should be and remain a stationary system. A supporting structure whose individual parts move in different directions collapses. To prevent this collapse in all load situations (wind, earthquake, collisions, weight) is the task of a static analysis in mechanical engineering. Do you need to design the statics of a plant, an assembly or an individual part? Then you have found the right experts at LinoPro's design office.

Various calculation methods are used in static analyses to determine the acting forces. A supporting structure must be designed differently from a piping system through which liquids of different temperatures flow. The strength calculation for a bracket made of a single metal alloy does not require the same approaches as the design of a structure made of different composite materials in lightweight construction. Our calculation engineers have specialized in statics in mechanical engineering and master the different approaches.

Structural calculation and design

Structural calculation and design

LinoPro's design office carries out structural calculations and structural designs for you in accordance with Eurocode 3 (EN 1993: Design of steel structures). We check the statics to see whether your construction can withstand all impacts such as additional loads, wind, snow, ice and earthquakes in addition to its own weight.

A load-bearing structure is an overall system of load-bearing elements. A distinction is made between different types of load-bearing structures whose structure differs in terms of statics and shape:

  • Beam structure: A beam structure is a structure whose load-bearing elements are composed of beams. These bars are connected to each other at their joints, the so-called nodes.
  • Timber framework: A timber framework is essentially a framework. However, unlike in trusses, only normal forces ideally occur in trusses. This means that there are tensile and compressive stresses in a truss, but ideally no bending moments.

No matter if framework or truss: We make sure that your construction holds without being oversized! We work with the calculation and design programs RStab/ConSteel and RFEM to design the statics of load-bearing structures.

Finite Elemente Methode (FEM)

We use the FEM for linear and non-linear strength calculations of individual parts, assemblies and plants in mechanical engineering. In this way, deformations, strains and stresses can be determined or excluded. We will be pleased to provide you with a strength certificate for your product in accordance with the relevant standards using FEM.

Complex designs

In the case of complex assemblies and systems, the calculation engineer is faced with the challenge of finding the right partial models for the FEM. The result is very large amounts of data that need to be handled and interpreted. Our experts for statics and FEM in mechanical engineering have the necessary experience and expertise.

Pressure vessel calculation with AD2000

Pressure vessel calculation with AD2000

Are you planning a plant with closed tanks in which an overpressure of more than 0.5 bar prevails? Then you must comply with the European Pressure Equipment Directive (2014/68/EU). We will be happy to design your liquid gas tank, silo, heat exchanger or other pressure equipment for you. In our design office we design pressure vessels according to the AD2000 regulations established in mechanical engineering. Ask our experts so that the statics in your pressure vessel are also correct!
